The three spectrometers operating at 4.7T, 7T and 11.75T available for in vivo mouse and rat (4.7 and 7T only) MRI and NMR spectroscopy are equipped with dedicated animal holders with full physiological monitoring (temperature, respiration, ECG), heating systems and inhalation anesthesia via isoflurane vaporizers and appropriate waste scavenging systems. The 7T is also equipped with a rapid animal positioning system.
In addition to the MRI scanner rooms, the animal facility is also outfitted with a fully equipped surgery room separated from appropriate animal housing rooms, as it is required by the French and EU legislation on the protection and welfare of laboratory animals.
