About SATT Sud-Est
SATT Sud-Est, the “Technology Transfer accelerator” is a key player in regional economic development associated with innovation. Its core business, technology transfer, consists of protecting, maturing and licensing the Results of research from public laboratories in the South – Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Corsica Regions. Its goal is to help companies acquire reliable technologies that are better suited to the industrial challenges they face.
SATT Sud-Est is a simplified joint-stock company (SATT PACA Corse SAS) with a capital of €1 million. Its shareholders include the Universities of Aix-Marseille, Nice Sophia Antipolis, Toulon, Avignon and the Vaucluse, Corsica, the Ecole Centrale Marseille, the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the National Institute for Medical Research (Inserm) and the Caisse des Dépôts. The Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Marseille and the Nice University Hospital Centre are two of the company’s founding members though they cannot be shareholders. Project financed with the support of the European Union with the European Regional Development Fund. SATT Sud-Est is a member of the SATT Network.
A total of 46 employees and 30 project engineers worked for the company as of May 31, 2018. Its head office is based in Marseille, with a branch in Sophia Antipolis, France.
Engineer Position at CRMBM
We are seeking a sharp, enthusiastic, well-trained engineer who can contribute substantially to the development of a software dedicated to segmentation of MR images. The position is opened for 12 months at CRMBM (Centre de Résonance Magnétique Biologique et Médicale, http://crmbm.univ-amu.fr) a CNRS research unit located at the Timone University Hospital in Marseille and is supported by SATT Sud Est (https://www.sattse.com/) the valorization department of Aix Marseille University.
The MSK team at CRMBM has developed over the last years a research activity related to the segmentation of MR images and more particularly from individual skeletal muscles. More recently, a patent has been obtained related to an algorithm based on multiple nonlinear registration processes and allowing to obtain a robust supervised segmentation of individual muscles in humans. SATT Sud Est is now supporting the project for a one-year maturation step.
As the developer of this software, you will be in charge to gather the multiple tools developed so far at CRMBM in the field of segmentation in a single interactive environment. You will also have to develop additional routines allowing to i) Store and manage MRI longitudinal databases, ii) Optimize the existing supervised segmentation algorithm and iii) Improve the visualisation module (metrics outputs).
Profile and skills
The candidate will have a PhD in computer sciences, biomedical engineering, medical imaging physics or related fields. She/he should have a strong experience in programming using C/C++/Python, and will be familiar with image processing (registration, segmentation) and Software Library such as OpenCV, ANTs, Freesurfer, FSL, Brainvisa …

A post-doctoral position in pre-clinical neuroimaging is currently available at the Center for Magnetic Resonance in Biology and Medicine (CRMBM, Director Monique Bernard). The CRMBM is located on the Campus of the Medical School in Marseille (France), adjacent to the University Hospital of La Timone, the largest medical facility in Southern Europe. The position, starting as soon as possible, is funded for 3 years by the National Agency for Research (ANR). We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral scientist with significant experience in pre-clinical DTI and functional MRI. The successful candidate will join the team headed by Dr Angele Viola and will take part in a collaborative project on mouse in brain connectome led by Dr Christophe Bernard (Aix-Marseille University) an expert in connectome-based modelling (“The Virtual Brain” TVBM project).
